Our History

Greenway-Chaplin started as a neighbourhood association with a volunteer Board of Directors. The City of Cambridge has supported the growth of the neighbourhood associations across the city for over 30 years!

Greenway-Chaplin Community Centre (GCCC) offered programs at St. Peter’s Catholic Elementary School and Avenue Road Public Elementary School before moving to a permanent space at 116 Rouse Ave. The Region of Waterloo Housing division supported the move to one of their housing units in order to continue to provide programs and services to support the neighbourhood.

In 2000, GCCC applied and received its Charitable Status as non-profit in Canada. Since 2000 GCCC has continued to expand programs through the community input to include an After School Program, Summer Camp for the entire summer with extended care option and more to come!
